Distressing Bank Holiday!

Hello One and All! Thanks for visiting!

Please don't get upset by the title - even though it has been raining most of the weekend so far, we have had a lovely weekend at The Paperlane! Today was a workshop on how to use Distress Inks to colour character stamps. The project that we made was a small gift bag - all of the ingredients for the project are listed below.

Here is a picture of the fabulous projects that were made in the workshop today...

PROJECT INGREDIENTS (all stocked at The Paperlane):

In the Bag Die (Tim Holtz)
Pocket Gift Tag (Memory Box)
Character Stamps (Magnolia)
Fontiments: Birthday Sentiment Stamps (Uniko Studio)
Border and Ribbon Punches (Martha Stewart)
Distress Inks (Ranger Inc)
Vintage Seam Binding (Paperlane by the metre)

All of the images were coloured with Distress Inks, and we had great fun playing with the technique - they all concentrated so much it was silent at times! I thought they had all gone home ;-)

Thanks for a lovely day ladies! Time flies so fast when we are having fun! Look forward to seeing you all again soon! X

UPDATE: For everyone who is waiting for the Saturated Canary stamps to arrive from America - they are on their way! We will let you know straight away via the blog, Facebook and Twitter when they are here! You could always drop in the store or email if there are any that you would like saving!

Ta Ta for Now! :-)

Here are some pictures of the day.

Caroline took us though using Distress Inks, Distress Stains and working with acetate.

Alison Can-Canned all day, showing everyone how to knit beautiful scarves from RICO wool.

Caz showed everyone how to use the fabulous Flitter Glu and Gilding Flakes from Indigo-Blu. These looked absolutely stunning!

Lovely Colouring Class at the Paperlane!

Hello! Another Sunday, another class at The Paperlane! Thanks so much ladies for a lovely day - it was really great working with you all!

Today it was all about getting to grips with using Distress Inks as a colouring medium - so there was lots of quiet and concentration this morning! Have a look at the finished work from the ladies - such lovely colours and colouring! A fabulous set of finished pieces.

The ladies all worked with My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Papers.
They chose between Magnolia or Molly Blooms stamps to decorate their projects.

There were a variety of sentiments used - Polka Doodles, Hero Arts and Molly Blooms.

There were lots of Spellbinder's Nesties used too!

The ribbon? That is seam binding that has been scrunched with distress inks and water to give it a lovely vintage feel. It looks so pretty on all of the projects.

Aren't they just wonderful ? Whoever is lucky enough to get one of these through the post will be more than pleased, I am sure!

Thanks again for a lovely day! Hope to see you all soon!

Kx

Water Colouring with Distress Inks - 5th June Class at The Paperlane

Hello Lovely TPL readers! Hope you are all well - it's a Bank Holiday weekend again, so even if the sun does not shine, Ive got an extra day I can spend crafting! How are you spending yours?

Thought I would share the sample for next week's class - Using Distress Inks as a colouring medium for stamps. We will be playing with Distress Stains too! I had so much fun last time with the lovely ladies, I can't wait!
The seam binding has been altered with Distress Inks - more about that at the class! The images used are of course, Molly Blooms. They are really lovely, and little duck with his welly boots? Just too cute!! The papers are My Minds Eye Hattie. We will be using some really delicious new My Minds Eye papers on Sunday - Lost and Found. Just the thought of them is making me smile!
If you like Molly Bloom Stamps, remember our competition to win a fabulous day at the September Molly Blooms workshop! All you have to do is create a card with a Molly Bloom stamp on it, coloured with Copics and send it to us at The Paperlane! Address details are on the blog! Remember, we are not far away from the A1 - so all are welcome to enter! Entries close on June 11th - so get your skates on! Got to be in it to win it!

Sadly, our Blog Candy has not been claimed yet! So as it has been 2 weeks since the Candy closed, and we hate to see good stash go unloved! If the prize remains unclaimed by 8pm on Monday, 30th May we will redraw the prize from the original comments.
